The history over the past century is incredible for this area. This area saw huge amounts of activity during the War of the Mountains between Austria and Italy. We had a chance to hike some of the trails the troops used. It was amazing how they carved trails and tunnels literally through the mountains. This is a particular interesting image. If you look closely, you'll see a couple of cables hanging off the cliff where the hikers are. This entire hillside/mountain was blown off with one huge explosion during the conflict.
