Timing was everything on this image. I had been coming to this area for many years but could never time it right with the ferns and aspen peaking at the same time. The evening after I took this shot, it snowed several inches and the following day all the ferns were wilted and ruined for the photo season. You need to catch them when they are peak color and also still dry. I took this image the same day I took image #C61. I had to wait for several cows to move out of the shot. They are actually standing behind some trees in the upper right of the image.
